Awakening Spa sits on the fourth floor of Anderson Ocean Club & Spa, oceanfront at 2600 North Ocean Blvd. It is a full-service day spa, open to resort guests and to visitors staying elsewhere in Myrtle Beach, and massage is the largest part of what we do. Massage therapy at Awakening Spa
Every massage is available as a 55-minute or an 80-minute service unless the description says otherwise. Guests must be 18 or older to receive a massage.
Signature Customized Massage
Relaxation and renewal combined. Our therapists work through a range of pressures, adjusting to what your body needs that day rather than following a fixed routine. A good choice if you are not sure which style suits you.
Awakening Swedish Massage
The classic soothing massage. Long, flowing strokes improve circulation, relax the body, and gently release muscle tension. This is the most approachable option for a first massage.
Deep Tissue Muscle Recovery Massage
Focused work on the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. Suited to guests carrying chronic tension, to athletes, and to anyone already comfortable with firm pressure.
Warm Stone Massage
Our most requested service. Warm stones and gentle pressure work together to release stress and tension held in the muscles and joints.
Maternity Massage
A 55-minute service, with extra care given to comfort and to your stage of pregnancy. Available once the first trimester is complete.
Couples massage
Three couples services are offered, all in our couples suite and all booked per couple. Full detail on planning a couples visit is in our Awakening Spa menu.

Common questions
Do I have to be staying at the resort to book a massage?
No. Awakening Spa takes appointments from resort guests and from visitors staying elsewhere in Myrtle Beach. Reservations are recommended either way.
How long is a massage?
Most services run 55 or 80 minutes. Maternity Massage is 55 minutes.
Is there an age requirement?
Yes. You must be 18 or older to receive a massage. The A Bright Future Facial is designed for teens.
What is the difference between Swedish and deep tissue?
Swedish uses lighter, flowing pressure to relax the body and improve circulation. Deep tissue works into the deeper muscle layers and is a better fit for chronic tension or athletic recovery.
Can two people book at the same time?
Yes. Our couples suite holds two guests side by side, and all three couples services are booked per couple.
How far in advance should I book?

Anderson Ocean Club & Spa is an oceanfront, condo-style resort: studios and one, two, and three-bedroom suites, each with a fully equipped kitchen, a washer and dryer, and a balcony. Booking a stay puts the spa four floors away rather than across town.
